Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016
Macedonia will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The song will be performed by Kaliopi, a Macedonian singer-songwriter who previously represented Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. In November 2015 the Macedonian broadcaster Macedonian Radio Television (MRT) announced that they had internally selected Kaliopi to compete at the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden, with her song to be presented to the public in February 2016.

The Macedonian national broadcaster, Macedonian Radio Television (MRT), broadcasts the event within Macedonia and organises the selection process for the nation's entry. Following a string of non-qualifications from the semi-finals between 2008 and 2011, MRT opted to change their entry selection strategy from using the Skopje Fest national final to an internal selection. In 2012, the internal selection of Kaliopi, performing the song "Crno i belo", resulted in Macedonia qualifying to the final and placing 13th. However, the subsequent internal selections of Esma Redžepova and Vlatko Lozanoski in 2013 and Tijana Dapčević in 2014 both failed to take Macedonia to the final. In 2015, Macedonia returned selecting their entry through the Skopje Fest national final and selected "Autumn Leaves" performed by Daniel Kajmakoski as their entry. The song failed to qualify Macedonia to the final for a third consecutive year in a row. For 2016, the broadcaster opted to select the Macedonian entry through an internal selection.
